Coronavirus Status Report #7: Emergency Status Expanded 15 more days

Today 26 days of the state of emergency and social isolation are mandatory for the increasing cases of coronavirus in the country.
The President of the Republic, Martín Vizcarra, extended the state of emergency by 15 more days, until 26 April in order to stop the spread of COVID-19. This measure has been put in place because unfortunately the number of infected people has increased to 5897 and the death toll is 138.
In addition, starting Saturday, April 11, the days of differentiated eligibility for men and women to go out of home has been cancelled, now only one person of the family will be allowed to leave their house. The only reasons for people to leave their homes is if they are going to purchase food, medicine or banking procedures, as well as the mandatory social immobilization (curfew) of all persons in their homes will now be from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next day (and no longer until 5 a.m.).
We hope that these strict measures will help us flatten the curve and be able to overcome this pandemic.
