NEW REGULATIONS FOR MACHU PICCHU

Machu Picchu: capacity for the citadel will be expanded from September 15

«The proposal of [Decentralized Directorate of] Culture is that as of September 15, 400 more tourists enter and, based on the commitments made by the institutions, gradually increase to 3,000 tourists by the end of the year,» said Fredy Escobar, head of the Decentralized Directorate of Culture (DDC) of Cusco.

The increase in tourists to this wonder of the world could awaken a warning of possible risks by Unesco, which declared Machu Picchu a Natural and Cultural Heritage of Humanity. To date, only the income to the Inca trail is sold at 40% per day. While they see how the advances of the protocols develop within the Inca trail. Little by little they will increase spaces until they reach 100% capacity.
