Bolivia Uyuni Salt Flats 2 Days

Overview

The ‘Salar de Uyuni’ is the world’s largest salt flat and covers an area of approximately 10500m2.
Formed due to a transformation between several prehistoric lakes, the whole area is covered by a few meters of salt crust, which contains more than 50% of the world’s lithium supply.
Visiting the salt flats and the fascinating Incahuasi Island, with its large population of cactuses, will provide every visitor with a feeling of being close to the sky, as the wideness of the flats seems to be endless.
Besides the incredible salt flats, several lakes of beautiful colors, such as the green lake, the white lake and the red lake, home to thousands of pink flamingos, can be found in the region. Additionally, no traveler should miss the hot geysers and hot springs, as well as the rock valley.
Although conditions are tough at a height between 3600 and 5000m, it is a truly unique place to visit and a must-do for all travelers visiting Bolivia

Lunch in restaurant or picnic. Continue with the visit to Incahuasi Island, it is located in the heart of the salt flat and it is the biggest of a group of islands that represents an isolated ecosystem.  The island is populated with giant cacti species that measures up to 12 meters high (26.25 feet), providing an impressive overview. Transfer to hotel. From April to November, dry season, the salt flats surface gives the opportunity to play with photography and perspective. From December to March the entire salt flats surface is covered with water and becomes a huge white mirror where the sky is perfectly reflected on the salt flats surface.
