Caral Tour – Full day

Discover Caral, the Sacred City and its lost pyramids. Enjoy a tour full of history, magic and archeology; an intense day, fun and full of mystery, as only Peru can offer. Beautiful landscapes, trails, stories and curious notes.

ITINERARY:

Very early in the morning we will leave Lima, taking the highway Pan-American north road until arriving to the Km. 182 (2 ½ hours), in the Supe valley. We will arrive later to Huacho city.  We will walk on a trail road where we will see irrigation canals in the desert areas, seeing also beans, sugar cane, corn and yuca cultivation fields. Visit to “The Oldest City of America: Caral». Caral is an archaeological site where the remains of the main city of the Caral civilization are found. It is attributed an age of 5000 years and is considered the oldest city in America, as no other older site with such a diversity of monumental buildings, with different ceremonial and administrative functions has been found so far on that continent.23 It has been declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco.

We will be able to appreciate the microscopic images of the place and then we will visit the different constructions. We will return later to Huacho city to have lunch and make the city tour, visiting the balcony of Huaura, the place where there is a little site museum in honor of Jose de San Martin, who proclaimed the Peruvian independence. Ending the tour we will return to the hotel in Lima.
