Charming Lima Cusco 06 Days / 05 Nights

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LIMA 

Reception and transfer to the selected hotel in Lima. Overnight in Lima.

DAY 2: ARRIVAL TO CUSCO – TRANSFER TO URUBAMBA

Pick up and transfer to the airport to take your flight to Cusco (airfare NOT included). Assistance at your arrival in Cusco airport and transfer to the selected hotel in URUBAMBA. Stop in the village of Awanacancha Alpaca Farm, where you can see indigenous people weaving baskets and other goods by hand, as well as, see the different types of camelids: llamas, vicunas, alpacas. Get up close and personal with some of the Andes’ furrier inhabitants as you meet the town’s herds of llamas, alpacas, guanacos, and vicunas. Upon arrival to Urubamba hotel a hot Coca tea will be waiting for you to help you avoid altitude sickness. Resting upon arrival is highly recommended, that way your body acclimates to the altitude while you sleep. Overnight in Urubamba.

DAY 3: TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU – TRAIN BACK TO URUBAMBA

After breakfast, we go to the Urubamba station where we will take the train to Aguas Calientes town and upon arrival a 25-minute bus drive of winding road, to “The Lost City of the Incas”. Once we get there, we will meet the guide to start the tour to The Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and visit the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows. After the tour, we will have time to stroll around the archaeological site at our leisure. Then you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes town where we will join lunch. At a specific time, you will go to the train station to take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Overnight in Urubamba.

DAY 4: SUPER SACRED VALLEY TOUR – MARAS & MORAY

We will have an excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we will visit the Inca Fortress and the Ollantaytambo Citadel, built to protect the entrance to this part of the Valley. Lunch, then we visit the archaeological sites of Pisac, simultaneously the traditional Indian market of Pisac. We continue with the entrance to the Town of Moray, which is a place of gigantic natural holes on the surface of the area that was used to build cultivation terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective irrigation channels. We continue with Maras where we will find the famous salt mines known by some as «Salinas». We continue the tour to the town of Chincheros, where we will visit the weavers’ workshops, demonstrating how wool is obtained, its dyeing and garment making. At the end of our visits, we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 5: AM FREE DAY / PM CITY TOUR 

Breakfast. Free day at leisure. In the afternoon we will start visiting Cusco on a guided sightseeing tour knowing the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha. Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay (the Inca baths), Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. When the tour end, we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 6: CUSCO / LIMA – CITY TOUR 

After breakfast, transfer to Cusco’s airport for going back to Lima (airfare NOT included).  Upon arrival to Lima the driver will be waiting for you with a sign up with your name and will transfer you to the Manhattan Inn Airport Hotel. The guide will star the tour from the hotel. The City Tour visiting the most important places such as: The Main Square, the Cathedral, the Archbishopric, the Palace of Government, the City Hall of Lima, the railway station and the monumental Convent of San Francisco, where we will see its cloisters, catacombs and the religious museum. We will continue the visit with Lima residential zones, arriving then to the district of Miraflores, where we will have a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and its Beaches. At the end of the tour we will go to the Hotel. At an appropriate hour, transfer to the Jorge Chavez International Airport.
