LIMA CUSCO RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
ITINERARY:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LIMA 

Reception and transfer to the selected hotel in Lima. Overnight in Lima.

DAY 2: CUSCO / CITY TOUR

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Cusco.(airfare NOT included). Assistance at your arrival in Cusco airport and transfer to the selected hotel. At the hotel a hot Coca tea will be waiting for you to help you avoid altitude sickness. Resting in the morning is highly recommended, that way your body acclimates to the altitude while you sleep. In the afternoon we will start visiting Cusco on a guided sightseeing tour knowing the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha. Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay (the Inca baths), Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. At the end of the tour we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 3: CUSCO / SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS / AGUAS CALIENTES.

After breakfast we will have a full day excursion to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”, where we will appreciate the typical Indian Market of Pisac, which is open every day. After having lunch in a local countryside restaurant, we will visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo. At appropriate we will take the train to Aguas Calientes located in the province of Urubamba, at an altitude of 2,400 masl. At night, the site guide will locate you to give you the briefing of the excursion to Machu Picchu. Overnight in the town of Aguas Calientes.  

DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU TOUR

In the morning after breakfast, we will take a 25-minute bus drive of winding road, to “The Lost City of the Incas”, having a guided tour to The Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and  visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows. After the tour we will have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at leisure. After lunch we will return to Cusco.  Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 5: CUSCO / TOUR TO VINICUNCA 

Very early (5am), we are going to leave Cusco by car, the estimated travel time is 3 hours, during which we will pass through traditional villages and see some amazing views of the Andes. We will begin the hike from Chillca, at 3,700 m/12,139 ft elevation. From here, it will be @3 hour, uphill hike to reach the famous Rainbow Mountain.  Along the way, you will enjoy amazing views of the Andes, glacial peaks, red mountains, rocky hills and we’ll see llamas and alpacas grazing along the valley. Once we arrive at the top of Rainbow Mountain, you will have enough time to absorb the majesty of these mountains that surround this area. You will also see amazing views of the valleys and Ausangate Glacier Peak in front of you. After soaking in the views, we will begin our descent with a 2 hour, downhill hike. Return to Cusco.  Breakfast, lunch & Farewell Dinner included. Celebration in Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 6: CUSCO / LIMA CITY TOUR

After breakfast, transfer to Cusco’s airport for going back to Lima (airfare NOT included).  Upon arrival to Lima the driver will be waiting for you with sign up with your name and transfer to the Manhattan Inn Airport Hotel. The guide will star the tour from the hotel. The City Tour visiting the most important places such as: The Main Square, the Cathedral, the Archbishopric, the Palace of Government, the City Hall of Lima, the railway station and the monumental Convent of San Francisco, where we will see its cloisters, catacombs and the religious museum. We will continue the visit with Lima residential zones, arriving then to the district of Miraflores, where we will have a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and its Beaches. At the end of the tour we will go to the Hotel. At an appropriate hour, transfer to the Jorge Chavez International Airport.
