Marvelous Cusco 04 Days / 03 Nights

Cusco 4 Days 3 Nights. We’ll visit the most important religious icons within the city of Cusco, the Coricancha Sun Temple and the Cusco Cathedral. On the outskirts of Cusco our tour takes us to the Sacsaywaman Archaeological Park and also we will have the opportunity to visit Maras and Moray.

 ITINERARY:

DAY 1: CUSCO / CITY TOUR

Assistance at your arrival in Cusco airport and transfer to the selected hotel. At the hotel a hot Coca tea will be waiting for you to help you avoid altitude sickness. Resting in the morning is highly recommended, that way your body acclimates to the altitude while you sleep. In the afternoon we will start visiting Cusco on a guided sightseeing tour knowing the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha. Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay (the Inca baths), Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. When the tour end we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 2: CUSCO / SUPER SACRED VALLEY – MARAS & MORAY 

In the morning we will have the excursion to the «Sacred Valley of the Incas», where we can appreciate the typical Indian market. Visit to the archaeological park of Pisac. Lunch at a local restaurant, we continue the tour to the town of Chincheros, where we will visit the weavers’ workshops, demonstrating how wool is obtained, its dyeing and garment making. At the end of this visit we will do a panoramic tour of Maras, where we will find the famous salt mines known by some as «Salinas»

Then to the Moray Town, which is a place of gigantic natural holes on the surface of the area that was used to build cultivation terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective irrigation channels. We continue towards the town of Ollantaytambo to visit the Inca Fortress and the Citadel built to protect the entrance to this part of the Valley.

At a certain time, we will board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes, located at 2,400 meters above sea level, in the province of Urubamba.

At night, the site guide will locate you to give you the briefing of the excursion to Machu Picchu. Overnight in the town of Aguas Calientes.

DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

After having breakfast, we will be transferred to the Train Station, arriving to Aguas Calientes, located in the province of Urubamba, at an altitude of 2,400 mt.  After a 25-minute bus drive of winding road to “The Lost City of the Incas”, we will have a guided tour to The Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows. Free time to give a walk along the citadel.  In the afternoon we will return to Cusco. Overnight.

DAY 4: CUSCO / LIMA

After breakfast, transfer to Cusco’s airport for going back to Lima.
