Update of Coronavirus in Peru #3: Peru goes under State of Emergency

Martín Vizcarra decreed a state of emergency throughout the country to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
Given the new numbers of infected people with coronavirus -as of today 86 cases – the President of Peru, Martín Vizcarra held a press conference last night annonuncing the state of emergency and total closure of the borders of inbound and outbound of air, sea and land entries for 15 days.
The order also includes mandatory social isolation during the same amount of time. If foreigners are in our country they must obey the rules dictated by the goverment and stay in social isolation at their hotels.
People are able to transit in the streets only under the following restrictions:
• Acquisition, production and supply of food.
• Acquisition, production and supply of medicines.
• Attendance at health and service centers.
• Return to the place of residence.
• Assistance and care for older adults, minors, people with disabilities and in situations of vulnerability.
• Financial institutions, insurance and pensions.
• Production and storage, transport and distribution and sale of fuel.
• Media and call centers.
We are encouraging our clients to postpone all their upcoming trips to our country. These are trying times for all of us, however, if we act accordingly to the new orders of our government to protect us all, we will overcome this crisis sooner. Let’s be responsible and conscious.
God bless us all
