Tour Itinerary Summary
Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Chiquisca
Depart from Cusco at 5:30 am to Cachora, where mules and horsemen await. Trek through Capuliyoq Pass with views of Padreyoc mountain and the Apurímac Canyon. Overnight at Chiquisca (1930m).
Climate: Warm
Day 2: Chiquisca – Playa Rosalina – Marampata – Choquequirao
Descend to Playa Rosalina (1550m), then ascend to Marampata with scenic views of Choquequirao ruins. Camp 25 minutes from the site.
Climate: Cold and warm
Day 3: Choquequirao – San Ignacio – Carmen
Early visit to Choquequirao archaeological site. Descend to San Ignacio (1500m) for lunch, then climb to Carmen gardens for camp.
Climate: Moderate, with mosquitoes
Note: Trail is beautiful but slippery in parts. Carry enough water and tread carefully.
Day 4: Carmen – Tambobamba – Huanipaca – Cusco
Pass fertile valleys and small villages like Pacobamba and Huanipaca (3150m). Return to Cusco by bus.
Climate: Moderate, warm
