Tour Itinerary Summary
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Posada Amazonas
Arrival in Puerto Maldonado from Lima or Cusco. Transfer to the Tambopata river port and a 2-hour boat ride to Posada Amazonas. Lunch on arrival, orientation, and a canopy tower visit to observe the forest. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake – Posada Amazonas
Early morning excursion to Tres Chimbadas Lake to spot turtles, river birds, and potentially river otters. Visit a clay lick and take an ethnobotanical walk after lunch. Dinner and overnight at Posada Amazonas.
Day 3: Posada Amazonas – Puerto Maldonado / Lima
After breakfast, return by boat to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport for a flight to Lima or Cusco (airfare not included).
