If you have Machu Picchu in your bucket list and would love to hike the path of the Incas, then this tour is FOR YOU! You will visit the CITY OF THE KINGS, Lima, enjoy its delicious and popular traditional Peruvian food, as well as, visit the modern and historic areas. Then the adventure awaits in Cusco, where you will get to know the city, the Sacred Valley and be able to see the sunrise in the Sun Gate of Machu Picchu. All through a once in a life experience: the Inca Trail.
All this accompanied by a local, who will make sure you get to experience the traditional and off the beaten path points in each city.

Itinerary
DAY 1 ARRIVAL TO PERU – JULY 11th
Arrive to Peru. Reception and transfer to the selected hotel in Lima. At night, we will gathered at the hotel’s restaurant to enjoy a delicious welcome dinner based on a Peruvian food menu. Overnight in Lima

DAY 2 LIMA / CUSCO – PM CITY TOUR + NEARBY RUINS – JULY 12nd
Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Cusco. (Airfare NOT included). Assistance at your arrival in Cusco and transfer to the selected hotel; at the hotel a hot Coca tea will be waiting for you to help you avoid altitude sickness. In the afternoon, we will start our Cusco city tour. We will be taken on a guided sightseeing tour through the city, visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha. Then, we’ll drive out of the city to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay (the Inca baths), Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. When the tour ends, we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 3 CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY TOUR – JULY 13rd
After breakfast we will have a full day excursion to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”, where we will visit the traditional Indian market of Pisac. After having lunch in a local countryside restaurant, we will visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley. Finally, we will visit the last part of our tour, the village of Chincheros, where we will able to meet local handcraft makers and purchase any souvenirs if we would like. At the end of the tour, we will return to the city. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 4 INCA TRAIL – WUAYLLABAMBA – JULY 14th
We start early this morning with breakfast at the hotel and then a train ride to Chilca, where our trekking begins. We trek along the banks of the Urubamba River until we reach the magnificent ruins of Llactapata. Once we arrive in camp the porters will have put up our tents and hot drinks will be served. After enjoying an evening meal, sleep will be early this evening as the effects of altitude and exertion take their toll. Overnight in campsite

DAY 5 HUAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYU – JULY 15th
Possibly the hardest day of the trek, we rise early and head to the highest point of the trail – the impressive Warmiwanusca (Dead woman’s pass 4200m), past humming birds and stunted cloud forest and out-standing views down the valley. We then descend into the Pacaymayu valley and camp there. Overnight in campsite

DAY 6 PACAYMAYU – WIÑAYWAYNA – JULY 16th
We then climb again, passing the Inca ruins of Runcu Raccay, to the next pass giving us spectacular views of the Vilcabamba range. Walking on well-preserved Inca pathway we pass Sayacmarca ruins with plenty of time for an in depth tour and explanation. We continue along the ridge, passing through tunnels and fantastic views and a slight ascent brings us to Phuyupatamarca ruins. A steep downhill on an old Inca stair case brings us into the Cloud Forest and the outstanding site of Winaywayna. This is another outstanding ruin full of orchids and swallows. Overnight in campsite

DAY 7 MACHU PICCHU – JULY 17th
As we have risen early today we should be in time to see early morning sun lighting up the magnificent Machu Picchu ruins from the ‘Inti Punku’ or ‘Door of the sun’. From here it is a short descent to the world’s most famous ruins, where we will have a guided tour. We will learn about this mesmerizing Inca citadel and will have free time to stroll around to snap some pictures. We will go back down to the town of Aguas Calientes by bus and have lunch. We will have some free time and then go to the train station to return to Cusco city. Upon arrival to Cusco, we will have some free time to relax and rest. We will meet again for our celebratory dinner after making the Inca Trail. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 8 DEPART CUSCO – JULY 18th
After breakfast, transfer to Cusco’s airport for our flight back to Lima (airfare NOT included). Upon arrival to Lima, we will start the City Tour in Lima visiting the most important places of the capital of Peru, such as The Main Square, the Cathedral, the Archbishopric, the Palace of Government, the City Hall of Lima, the railway station and the monumental Convent of San Francisco, where we will see its cloisters, catacombs and the religious museum. We will continue the tour with a visit to Lima’s residential areas, arriving then to the district of Miraflores, where we will have a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and its beaches. We will enjoy our goodbye lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Pacific ocean. At an appropriate time, you will be transferred to the International Airport Jorge Chavez for your flight back to your country
